Requirements
Education:
Applicants must have a vocational qualification in welding, a basic degree in metalwork, or an equivalent qualification.
Experience:
At least two years of welding experience is required. Experience with specific welding techniques and materials (steel, stainless steel, aluminum) is an advantage. Additionally, industrial welding experience may be required depending on employer criteria.
Certifications:
Applicants must hold welding certifications according to the EN ISO 9606-1 standard:
- MIG/MAG (131, 135, 136, 138)
- TIG (141)
- Stick Welding (111)
Safety and Additional Training:
Applicants must hold the following valid certificates:
- Occupational Safety Card
(Työturvallisuuskortti) - Hot Work Permit
(Tulityökortti)
Language Skills
Finnish
The necessity and level of Finnish language proficiency will be evaluated individually by the applicant and employer.
English
Applicants must have good English language skills.

Skill assesment and Testing
Employers may require applicants to complete a welding test in their home country to verify basic competencies before progressing in the recruitment process.
Additionally, before starting work in Finland, applicants may need to complete a new welding test in accordance with employer requirements and project standards. This ensures that work quality and safety meet Finnish regulations and that welders possess the necessary practical skills.
