Requirements
Education:
Applicants must have a basic qualification in construction. Depending on the specific job role, additional training in areas such as carpentry, concrete construction, and masonry may be required. Familiarity with safety regulations and certification in scaffolding installation is also beneficial. Specific requirements will be assessed on a job-by-job basis.
Experience:
At least two years of experience in the construction field is required. Experience with specific construction techniques and materials (concrete, steel, wood) is an advantage. Additionally, experience in industrial or infrastructure construction may be required depending on employer criteria.
Certifications:
Applicants must hold the following valid certificates:
- Occupational Safety Card (Työturvallisuuskortti)
- Hot Work Permit (Tulityökortti)
- Scaffolding Card (Telinekortti)
- Professional Competence Certificates (e.g., masonry, concrete work, demolition work)
Safety and Additional Training:
The Finnish construction industry has strict safety regulations. Workers must be familiar with:
- Construction site safety guidelines
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Safe handling of lifting equipment and tools
Language Skills
English
Applicants must have good English language skills.
Finnish
The necessity and level of Finnish language proficiency will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Skill assesment and Testing
Employers may require applicants to complete a welding test in their home country to verify basic competencies before progressing in the recruitment process.
Additionally, before starting work in Finland, applicants may need to complete a new welding test in accordance with employer requirements and project standards. This ensures that work quality and safety meet Finnish regulations and that welders possess the necessary practical skills.
